SkillsPlus & BRACE are two not-for-profit organisations who together provide innovative education, training and employment programs. SkillsPlus & BRACE amalgamated in 2014 to bring together our experience of delivering quality training and providing employment opportunities. In 2015 we also announced a merge with the Endeavour Foundation, a large disability provider that is now enabling us for growth aligned to the roll out of the NDIS. About the roleDue to growing business requirements, we are now looking to hire a Sessional Trainer/Assessor for an immediate start to deliver the courses: Certificate I in EAL (22484VIC) and Certificate II in EAL (22485VIC) across our Dandenong site.As a Trainer/Assessor you will be involved in the design and lead the delivery of our courses and organise and supervise students in practical placements. We are passionate about our Quality & Compliance. We invest in moderation, validation, professional development and feedback to improve our delivery.Key day to day duties will include:Planning and preparation for lessonsDelivering classes;Assess and evaluate trainingGeneral administrative duties About youFirst and foremost you will have a keen interest and passion in the teaching and learning of others. Our successful candidate will ideally have previous experience and qualifications in a training capacity which are further listed below:Assessors must satisfy the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015/AQTF mandatory competency requirements for assessorsCurrent Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or TAE40110 and one of the following:TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills or its successor orTAELLN401A Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills and one of the followingDesign and Develop Assessment tools or its successor orTAEASS502A Design and develop Assessment tools orTAEASS502B Design and develop Assessment toolsTo assess the Certificate I and II English as an Additional Language (EAL) an Assessor must have: Post graduate Qualification including supervised teaching practicum.This may include:Bachelor or Master of Education with TESL/TESOL as a methodBachelor of Education plus Graduate Diploma TESL/TESOLIndustry Currency including demonstrated hours of teaching English / Adult literacy & numeracyA current working with Children Check or VIT Registered is essential as is Police Check or the willingness to gain one.
