Hughenden is accessible by rail, plane and bus and is the main business Centre for the Flinders Shire which also encompasses the smaller communities of Prairie, Torrens Creek and Stamford.This is a great opportunity for an individual who has the dedication to complete a 4-year apprenticeship with the Flinders Shire Council, which will allow you to gain a Certificate III in Engineering- Mechanical Trade (Diesel Fitting). The successful candidate must have strong knowledge and passion for the industry and be able to commence in March.  The Apprenticeship will involve:    Service and repair mechanical partsDiscussing problems with drivers to discover faults and diagnostic proceduresRepair service engines, cooling systems, exhaust systems, diesel fuel systemsRepair manual and automatic transmissions, braking systems, hydraulic systems & final drive assembliesDuties will take place in workshop that is noisy, hot and dustyDaily physical exertion such as bending, twisting, climbing, lifting, pulling or pushing heavy materialsAbility to use hand and power tools, drills and drilling machines    Ability to work 76 hours a 9 day fortnight.                                                                                                                                           Requirements:          Must have manual drivers’ licenceConstruction Safety White CardUnderstand the importance of workplace health and safetyHave good communication skillsEnjoy practical workHave good hand-eye coordinationWho We Are?Community Solutions is a non-for-profit organisation operating as a commercial business, providing apprentices and trainees to a variety of different businesses throughout the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane.
