For Mental Health Week, community centres and health groups across Queensland will host events to drive awareness of mental well-being. The Mental Health Week events will promote the benefits of community groups and showcase services for improved confidence, lifestyle and happiness.
It’s estimated that mental illnesses and mental disorders will affect around *45% of Australian’s in their lifetime.
We’re all about supporting the community and working with you to achieve your well-being goals. So, we’ve pulled together some key Mental Health Week events happening near you.
Head down to the Mackay Mental Health and Wellbeing Community Fair at Mackay Showgrounds for some family fun. You will enjoy entertainment and food stalls, as well as receive information on all things welfare related. Our type of family fun!
Looking to explore mindfulness activities? Join the Neighbourhood Hub for a 3 hour Mindfulness Art Workshop. This session will discuss mental illness and promote the benefits of meditation.
Join Good Vibrations to learn tips and tools that support mental health and a positive well-being. You will take part in a variety of feel-good activities and hear from guest speakers. Not to mention enjoy morning and afternoon tea and lunch.
Bridges Health and Community Care will screen their mini documentary I am more than my mental illness followed by The Road Within. Join their Mental Health Team and other like-minded folks for an informative and warming experience.

Wellness on the coast helps the community Take Time for Mental Wellness. You will explore what the community has to offer and take part in relaxing activities. Some activities include a beach walk and a yoga session.
It’s open to all. So, why not head to the community centre and give yourself the opportunity to relax and have some fun?
Take Time Out and enjoy a free, family event full of fun activities, music and creative art sessions. You’ll meet some furry four-legged friends and the ComSol Rockhampton team. Visit our stand to learn all you need to know about getting back into work! Finish the day by grabbing an ice-cream for the kids (not forgetting the big kids too) and kick back and relax in the chill out zone.
Why not join the free weekly 5km Park Run (or walk) at the Rockhampton Botanic Gardens to give a boost to your day? Keeping active can have a positive impact on depression, anxiety, ADHD and more. It will also relieve stress and improve your overall mood.
Join the Rotary Club’s fourth Rotary walk for mental health to drive awareness of mental health. All money raised goes to the Australian Rotary Health for research into mental health.
Inspire others or be inspired by the messages people bravely share on the Let’s chalk about mental health footpath at Alexandra Headland. All those who contribute will enjoy a free sausage sizzle. Yum!
Darling Downs Health will be hosting a free community Mental Health event, focusing on breaking down stigmas. You will enjoy live music, see traditional dancers and enjoy a tasty sausage sizzle!
