Some of our Community Solutions NDIS Support Coordination team had the opportunity to attend the Business disABILITY Awards of Australia held in Toowoomba on Saturday 17 May 2025. This event celebrated the businesses, advocates, and individuals who champion and support people living with disability, as well as recognising the achievements of people with disability and employees.
We weren’t just attendees on the night, we were proud sponsors of the Person with Disability (PWD) Pay It Forward Program. This program supports people who cannot afford to attend the event by their own means.
The PWD Pay It Forward Program is a special initiative created by the Business disABILITY Awards t coined the initiative for individuals or organisations to be able to purchase tickets to the awards. The tickets can then be donated to a person living with disability, who would love to attend but may not be in a position to do so.
It’s a simple idea that makes a big difference. A donated ticket means someone gets to feel welcomed, recognised, and celebrated alongside their community and that’s exactly the kind of impact we love to support.

On the night, our Support Coordination team had the pleasure of meeting many of the ticket recipients that our sponsorship enabled to attend. Seeing their excitement and gratitude reminded us why this program is so important.
We also had the chance to connect with Paul, one of the co-founders of the Awards and a passionate disability advocate. His commitment to creating inclusive spaces and recognising the contributions of people with disability across the region is truly inspiring.
The Awards Night was more than just a dinner and speeches, it was a heartfelt celebration. The evening opened with a moving performance by Tony Dee, followed by the powerful keynote by Michael Crossland; his story of resilience and triumph left not a dry eye in the room. Despite the many challenges life has thrown at him, Michael has persevered and gone on to write a book.
The night concluded with the infectious energy of the Fibonacci Band. Every part of the event was filled with heart and purpose.
We were proud to witness the achievements of people living with disability, and so many businesses and individuals being recognised for their work in supporting people with disability through employment, advocacy, and education.

The Business disABILITY Awards continue to grow, and we’re already looking forward to next year’s event. We hope to see even more community members involved and more Pay It Forward tickets gifted to deserving individuals.
Events like these remind us that inclusion isn’t just a goal, it’s a journey we all take together. Supporting programs like this is one way we can help create more opportunities for people with disability to feel seen, valued, and celebrated.
We’re grateful to have been part of such a meaningful night and look forward to continuing to support the community in every way we can.
