Course Overview

What You’ll Learn: In this course, you’ll take on seven TAFE-accredited units that are highly desirable by industry, including:

  • Develop a career plan for the engineering and manufacturing industry
  • Undertake a basic engineering project
  • Participate in environmentally sustainable work practices
  • Interact with computing technology
  • Use engineering workshop machines
  • Use electric welding machines
  • Use oxy-acetylene and soldiering equipment
  • Use fabrication equipment
  • Pull apart and reassemble engineering mechanisms.
  • Fusion Welding Proficiency ISO 9606

Employment pathways

  • Manufacturing (Fabrication, Sheet Metal, Fitting & Turner)
  • Advanced Manufacturing (3D Printing, CNC Machining)
  • Recreational Vehicles Employment pathways

Program Snapshot:

  • Duration: 11-week paid full-time course
  • Location: Townsville
  • Study Mode: 8 weeks of training, followed by 2-3 weeks of placement and direct support from our team

To meet the criteria for our Pre-Apprenticeship Program, here’s what you’ll need:

  • Commitment to a Career in Engineering: Bring your passion, and we’ll provide the tools and training.
  • Transportation: A car and valid license to access training and placement locations.
  • Work Eligibility: Full rights to work in Queensland.
