Safe Nite Out

Supporting Public Safety

The Safe Nite Out service operates in the Sunshine Coast (Maroochydore/Mooloolaba and Caloundra), Bundaberg, Gladstone and Rockhampton Safe Night Precincts on Friday and Saturday nights, and deliver additional support services for key events and at times where licensed venues have successfully applied to extend their trading hours.

Staffed by a committed Team Leader, qualified medical practitioners, skilled outreach leaders and a team of trained volunteers, the Safe Nite Out service contributes to the reduction of alcohol related harm – specifically alcohol-related violence- in popular entertainment precincts.

Delivering foot and vehicle patrols across the Safe Night Precincts, the service also operates centrally located Rest and Recovery Centres, which provide a safe place for patrons to seek basic first aid when required, have ‘time out’, rehydrate or to access support for any other reason relating to the adverse effects of drugs or alcohol.
