Safety and Support Services
The Safe Nite Out service operates on Friday and Saturday nights in Safe Night Precincts. The team works on the Sunshine Coast (Maroochydore/Mooloolaba and Caloundra), in Bundaberg, Gladstone and Rockhampton. The team also delivers additional safety and support services for key events and at times where licensed venues have successfully applied to extend their trading hours.
Delivering foot and vehicle patrols across the Safe Night Precincts, the service also operates centrally located Rest and Recovery Centres, which provide a safe place for patrons to seek basic first aid when required, have ‘time out’, rehydrate or to access support for any other reason relating to the adverse effects of drugs or alcohol.
Are you appearing before a Sunshine Coast court for an alcohol related offence?
Our Time for Change program is available to support you through individual case management. We can help you make positive lifestyle changes and reduce risky drinking behaviour and connect you to other relevant services.
Time for Change is also available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who do not have current court matters but would like to access this program.
Time for Change is funded by the Queensland Government Department of Communities.
Reconnect with your culture
Are you an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person on the Sunshine Coast that would like to connect with your culture?
Join a kalapa that can connect you to services to yarn about support for you and your family. The kalapa is culturally guided and community connected. It includes accredited skills training, art and garden projects and opportunities to give back to community.
Cultivating Culture is funded by the Queensland Government Department of Communities.
