SkillsPlus and BRACE are two leading not-for-profit organisations that came together in 2013 to expand our footprint of services across Victoria and South Australia. We provide a range of education, training and employment services, working with individuals from various backgrounds and abilities, including disengaged youth, migrants, people who are long-term unemployed and people with disabilities.In 2015 we have extended our services by joining Endeavour Foundation (a large disability provider predominantly based in Queensland). As a group we are now strategically positioned to make a profound and positive difference for individuals, families and communities through the delivery of a greater range of service options. About The Role:We are now looking to hire a Youth Coach on a permanent full time basis to join our friendly, supportive and high performing Pakenham based Transition to Work team. This position assists youth participants to engage back into the community through employment or education. The focus will be on involving participants to address gaps in employability skills through intensive activities, into work programs or further education. This will position participants, to be referred to paid employment opportunities as quickly as possible.The day-to-day duties will be, but not be limited to:Engaging all youth participants to participate in 25 hours per week of an activityPlan and identify specific individually tailored job related, vocational and non-vocational programs for the participantUse a variety of assessment tools, tests and strategies to assess a client's particular interests, abilities, skills, motivation, attitude, values and knowledgeEnsuring appropriate services are provided and recommended to youth participants.Engage with community organisations that assist people who are at a social disadvantageEnsure participants are meeting their monthly mutual obligation requirements About You:You believe in making a difference in people's lives and will ideally come from a similar background in a community based organization and/or employment services. Our successful have:Knowledge of the labour market, programs & community agenciesProven ability to motivate participants, and advocate on their behalfAbility to quickly build rapport & conduct an objective assessment of the participant’s skills & abilitiesRelevant industry qualifications (desirable)Ability to communicate to all stakeholders both internally and externallyAdministrative and compliance capabilities.Competency in Microsoft packages including Word and ExcelA current and valid driver’s licence is essential, as is a Working with Children card or the willingness to gain one.
