The service will increase the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable people and those at risk of harm to themselves.  This support will also extend to others affected by the influence of alcohol and other related substances.The Project Coordinator will be required to:coordinate and lead a team of volunteers through on-street safety patrols across designated Safe Night Precinct areas on Friday and Saturday nights and other events as requiredprovide critical support, first aid, care and support to individuals who need assistance as a result of intoxication or the intoxication of otherswork collaboratively with QPS, QAS and the local business community to reduce the incidence of injury and accidents involving patrons of licensed premises.About youYour responsibilities will include, but not be limited to;be available onsite for late night Friday and Saturday on street dutiesidentify and assess risk level for self, volunteers and the general public and respond appropriately, calling on other support and emergency services when requiredpromptly respond to emergency and non-emergency situations calmly and efficientlymaintain membership and attendance at relevant liquor accord meetingsmaintain accurate records including shift procedures, patrol and critical incident reports whilst maintaining client confidentialitymaintain appropriate program records and data entry in accordance with Community Solutions and Department of Communities’ requirementsactively participate in regular line management and a commitment to continuous improvement through service development opportunitiesmake autonomous decisions whilst leading a team of volunteersbe aware of environmental risk factors associated with late night on street patrols and maintain volunteer safetycontribute to a work environment that enhances teamwork, trust and loyalty.Mandatory requirementsCurrent drivers licenceMaintain a current Queensland Driver’s LicenseMaintain current Senior First Aid and Advance Resuscitation qualificationsCurrent Working with Children Blue Card, or the ability to obtain one.Tertiary qualifications in Nursing, Social Sciences, Community Services and/or Paramedic certification or relevant experience in alcohol and other drug support services and/or mental health support services, would be highly regarded.APPLICATIONS CLOSE  SUNDAY 14 JANUARY 2018. 60000 AUD Rockhampton
