Following an amalgamation in October 2014, Community Solutions and Endeavour Foundation aspire to make a profound and positive difference for individuals, families and communities, through the delivery of a greater range of service options.About The Role:Based in Bokarina we are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Peer Support Worker to join our Personal Helpers and Mentors (PhaMs) Program in Bokarina. This is a full time, fixed term role until February 2019.The Personal Helpers and Mentors (PHaMs) service:aims to provide increased opportunities for recovery for people whose lives are severely affected by mental illnesstakes a strengths-based, recovery approach, andassists people aged 16 years and over whose ability to manage their daily activities and to live independently in the community is impacted because of a severe mental illness.The successful candidate will enjoy developing relationships while utilising their experience to understand the needs and aspirations of the people they support and develop tailored Recovery Plans.The role involves outreach work, advocacy, liaison with community providers and promoting the development of skills for daily life and independent living.The Requirements:Must have lived experience of Mental Health;Must have a minimum of a Certificate IV Mental Health;Must have a current and valid Drivers Licence;Experience working in community services and/or mental health;Currently have or eligible to obtain a Blue Card and Criminal History Check;Knowledge of community services and resources.The Benefits:Supportive and professional team environment;Excellent opportunity to make a lasting difference in your community;Flexible salary packaging options.Applications close Sunday 25th of March 2018.Community Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer and we encourage applications from people with culturally diverse backgrounds, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and people with disabilities.
